History of “Takoyaki”
Hi, folks! how was your weekend ? :)
the winter holiday is coming soon !
I'm guessing, lots of international people will come to Japan as the traveling , and they will come to Kansai “Osaka, Kyoto etc” region among them, don’t they? lol
we are welcome if you come to here, and you will love the Kansai's food and so on lol
Speaking of Kansai's food, have you ever known the history of Kansai's food?
especially “Takoyaki”
Today, I'd like to introduce the history of “Takoyaki”
Takoyaki (Octopus fritters)
Takoyaki was first popularized in Osaka, where a street vendor named Tomekichi Endo is credited with its invention in 1935.
It inspired by Akashiyaki(明石焼), a small round dumpling from the city of Akashi, Hyōgo Prefecture made of an egg-rich batter and octopus.
(Akashiyaki)
So...Takoyaki was initially popular in the Kansai region, but later spread to the Kantō region(Tokyo, Yokohama etc) and other areas of Japan.
Nowaday, Takoyaki is now sold at commercial outlets, such as supermarkets and 24-hour convenience stores.
Of course, Akashiyaki is also sold at there, but it's less popular than Takoyaki...unfortunately.
So, when you come to Kansai region, please try to have some Akashiyaki before you get “Takoyaki”
maybe, you like it!
okay, that's enough for today.
Thank you !
